A change of date for the 118th Fieracavalli in Verona. In 2016, the most important international event dedicated to the equestrian world will take place Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 November. Moving on a week ensures harmonisation for the competition calendar of the Longines FEI Show Jumping World Cup - that for 16 years has assigned the only Italian leg to Fieracavalli with Jumping Verona.
“The high-level sporting component,” explained Giovanni Mantovani, CEO & Director General of Veronafiere, “is one of the reasons for the success of Fieracavalli, which in 2015 was visited by more than 160,000 people, with 16% international attendance. Changing of the date of this edition avoids overlaps in World Cup events and means that Verona will attract the best horses and riders at the top of the show jumping rankings.”
The last edition of Jumping Verona was won by Frenchman Simon Delestre riding Hermes Ryan and captured more than 16,000 spectators. Fieracavalli sets aside three halls with grandstands with 5,000 seats for the Longines Fei World Cup competitions, as well as more than 35,000 square meters of course rings, warm-up and work-out fields.
The sporting programme at Fieracavalli 2016, in addition to the Show Jumping World Cup under the auspices of the International Equestrian Federation (CSI5 *), also envisages international horse competitions with one star (CSI1*) and two stars (CSI2*), the National Pony Competition, as well as the traditional western riding competitions.
