After four days of pure equestrian passion, Fieracavalli - the most eagerly awaited event for all enthusiasts of the equestrian world - has closed its gates!
One hundred and sixty thousand people arrived in Verona this year not only to celebrate the 120th edition but also to discover the 2400 horses representing 60 breeds on display during the trade fair and enjoy more than 200 events including animations, competitions and shows - without forgetting the most advanced products on offer by 750 exhibiting companies.
"Timeless success," as the President of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese, commented. "Facts and figures alongside the success of the anniversary edition of Fieracavalli," Danese added, "once again confirm its fundamental and unique role in Italy for the promotion and valorisation of a sector boasting 10 million enthusiasts on a national scale, 3.2 million of whom have sat in the saddle in the course of the last year."
In fact, this is the secret underlying the show in Verona: combining sport, business, entertainment and breeding, without forgetting the new world of equestrian tourism currently enjoying significant growth. "Fieracavalli, alongside its sporting soul, ensures full expression for another fundamental driving force for the development of the sector: equestrian tourism," said Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere. Research carried out by Nomisma on our behalf, in fact, highlights that this form of alternative and slow holiday-making, alongside treks in the saddle, is enjoyed by 90% of horse enthusiasts, with an average daily expenditure of 150 euros."
On this closing Sunday, then, it would be impossible to overlook Jumping Verona, the event that for 18 consecutive years has hosted the only Italian leg of the Longines FEI Show Jumping World Cup™ with a breath-taking Grand Prix in the afternoon.
Two Italians were involved in the jump-off - Luca Marziani and Alberto Zorzi - who unfortunately did not manage to prevent a strong Daniel Deusser whose clear round in 36.83 seconds grabbed the Verona World Cup stage.
Only one thing is missing: when will the next edition take place? Save the date from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 November 2019!
Looking forward to seeing you again next year!
