Single horses, pairs or teams with 3 or 4 horses complete with coachmen and dames in perfect 1800s costumes. These are the protagonists of the latest edition of Verona by Coach and Horses: the annual appointment - by now a well-established tradition - organized by the Italian Teams Group closed the four-day event dedicated to horses with a tour around the city centre in coaches by the most important Italian coachbuilders dating back to the 1800s.
The parade set off this morning at 10:00 from the Exhibition Centre reached the historic centre of Verona by 11:30. The presence of Fieracavalli in Piazza Bra was also a journey back in time by 120 years to the very origins of the trade fair. It was in 1898, in fact, that the history of Veronafiere officially came into being, with the establishment of the six-monthly horse shows that also made use of the Arena.
All participants were evaluated by city dignitaries and international judges who decreed the winners of the 9th Verona by Coach competition.
The Best in Show category was won by Fiorenzo Erri who also took 1st place in the Pairs category; Giuseppe Usai won the GIA Trophy. The top spot on the podium for teams of four wet to Adamo Martin with Ominubus. All the more, Katia Bertocco and Marco Gentile respectively took first place in the Single Pony and the Single Horse categories.
