Twenty-three single, double and four-horse teams left from the Veronafiere Exhibition Centre on a parade as far as Piazza Bra, passing along the most evocative streets in Verona. This is Verona by coach and horses, the annual event organized by the Italian Teams Group that closes the four-day event devoted to the horse world.
Setting of at 10 a.m. from the Exhibition Centre itself, the parade reached the Arena at twelve noon and here city dignitaries joined ten international judges - taking part for the first time - to reward the winners of the 8th Elegance Competition. And the winner of the Best in Show category was Edgardo Goldoni with his superb 1800s Spider Phaeton. Paola Pedrazzini won the pairs category, while the four-horse team award went to Samuele Boaretti. Not to mention Elena Colombi, who won the pony category.
Year after year, the Fieracavalli coach and horse parade recreates the atmosphere of times gone by in Verona. Yet the magic of these old means of transport was in the forefront every day during the event in the PalaExpo thanks to the display of Veronafiere's collection of coaches "signed" by Cesare Sala, one of the most important coachbuilders in the world.
