Fieracavalli, a history spanning more than a century.

The pairing of Verona and horses is a cultural, historical, and economic identity with ancient origins. It's difficult, if not impossible, to imagine this city without its horses, symbols of its essence and international character.

Long a leading center for the breeding and marketing of equine products, the first key historical milestone for this geographical area dates back to 1772, the year in which Bibbiena designed and oversaw the construction of the first fairgrounds for horses, mules, donkeys, and hinnies. For over 100 years, equestrian competitions were held here, along with a market for the finest specimens, until the fateful event of 1898.

That year marked the beginning of the modern history of the Verona trade fair: the first edition of the Horse and Agriculture Fair.

From a simple horse market, it has undergone exponential growth over the years, officially becoming an International Fair in 1950 and establishing itself as a leading event in the global equestrian scene . Verona, on the other hand, due to its geographical location, is at the center of the main commercial axes connecting the major European markets and remains a crucial hub for the distribution of goods and people.

The presence of this important annual event has profoundly influenced the geographical area, leading to the development of numerous small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses, initially established to support the equestrian world and its varied activities.

The event's ability to keep the noble and ancient traditions of the horse alive is fundamental , especially since the post-war period, when the notable economic and agricultural growth partially marginalized it from human life.

Today, Fieracavalli is a catalyst for interest not only for enthusiasts, but above all for the thousands of people, mostly young, who, through horses, identify with a new way of conceiving life, linking together sport, music, design, art, solidarity, history, leisure, tourism, and adventure.
