Ape’nDown is a social enterprise that promotes the employment of people with Down syndrome, offering practical training courses and concrete job opportunities. The project accompanies the young people during trade fairs and creates a direct bridge with local businesses to encourage recruitment and autonomy.
This year the young people will be guests of honor at the first evening of the Fieracavalli Gala, where they will celebrate the first year of the foundation and receive recognition for the results achieved. In just twelve months, the project has enabled seven young people to find work in businesses in the Verona area and has trained three other young people who are ready for job placement. During this year, important collaborations were also born, including those with Hellas Verona and UniCredit, and the first Ape’nDown food truck will be inaugurated, which will debut at the fair.
“Our participation in Fieracavalli testifies to how close the event is to social issues, supporting initiatives that enhance the inclusion and autonomy of young people with disabilities. We could not have hoped for more than we have achieved in just one year of work. We have faced challenges and moments of discouragement, but the smiles of the young people, seeing them grow independently and fulfilled, and the satisfaction of the companies that welcome them are the engine that drives us,” says Dr. Lazzarin, vice president and project manager.
The Ape’nDown team will be waiting for you at Pavilion 9, from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 November, with cocktails, coffee, aperitifs and sweet and savory delicacies.
