We are inside Pavilion 8, the historic Fieracavalli which, in addition to opening its doors to the only Italian stage of the Show Jumping World Cup, hosts the Gala D’Oro, the equestrian show directed by Antonio Giarola that has lit up the nights of Verona for over thirty years.
Thursday 7 and Saturday 9 November, when the lights of the commercial pavilions go out, PATHOS comes to life, the show that celebrates the horse through the story of the emotions brought to the stage by 9 evocative performances.
Many national and international artists are present.
First of all, Jean François Pignon – the French trainer acclaimed throughout the world – ready to enchant his audience with the work in freedom performed with his 13 horses, and who will also demonstrate how it is possible to build a solid and authentic relationship with the equine, using only the voice and body language.
Hope, rebirth and resilience will be the emotions brought to life by Kintsugi, the performance that takes its name from the Japanese art of the same name used to repair broken ceramic objects with gold dust. Gessica Notaro and Rudj Bellini – two Fieracavalli veterans – will bring to the stage an unprecedented equestrian couple choreography, accompanied by the work with reins in the belt of eight other riders.
Then, one of the rising stars of the equestrian show will cross the field of pavilion 8, directly from Belgium: Mirela Paulus, the horsewoman ready to enchant the audience with a violin solo on horseback, accompanied by the splendid choreography of the Gala Direttamente ballet troupe. Carmelo Saenz Mendoza will perform directly from the Alta Scuola in Libertà, with his performance of taming in dolcezza that will demonstrate to the Veronese audience the beauty of the authentic bond between horse and rider. Also Compagnie Jehol with its “Voltige e Danza Equestre” is ready to amaze with vaults, jumps and pirouettes performed in perfect synchrony with the faithful Comtois horses.
It will take little to get excited with Lavanda, the piece performed by the Maremma Knights of the Asd Le Doganelle di Tuscania, which retraces the joy and euphoria of the lavender harvest, a great community celebration that has its roots in ancient Tuscan traditions.
Finally, the moment most loved by adults and children will not be missing: the carousel, in an “academic” version – and of Verdi inspiration – performed by the Accademia il Nero Luminoso, “Respiro” the one with the young students of the Rudj Bellini Equestrian Theater school and finally, the military one performed by the Lanceri di Montebello.
Come and discover the magic of the equestrian show, only at Fieracavalli!
