From Pavilion 10 of Fieracavalli, you can virtually fly overseas to the heart of the United States.
In ring B, the Italian Quarter Horse Association (AIQH) brings the soul of the western world to the stage with Halter competitions: trials in which Quarter Horses, Appaloosas and Paint Horses are judged on balance, structure and musculature, accompanied by hand by their handlers. It is a close look at America’s most iconic breeds, capable of telling the story, genetics, and equestrian culture.
Alongside the main categories, there are also classes dedicated to coat color, such as the “Most Colorful at Halter” for Appaloosas and the Colored Classes reserved for Paint horses. The program also includes the Best in Show and the historic Grand Champion, which rewards the most representative subjects of the show.
For the youngest, there is the Challenge All Breed, dedicated to foals, while the Ranch Riding tells the versatility of western breeds with exercises inspired by work on American farms: it is not speed that counts, but precision, calm and harmony between horse and rider.
